General Enrolment Guidelines for New Participants By registering via our online form, you are also placing yourself on the mailing list to receive information about new opportunities at Westside Circus, including one-off workshops, holiday programs and performances. It is our hope that while you are waiting for a Public Program class you still have the opportunity to be part of the Westside Circus community. Enrolment Guidelines for Existing Participants If you are an existing Westside Circus participant, you are required to fill out the online registration form to ensure we have up to date emergency contact and medical information at the start of each year. Additionally you are required to return the enrolment and payment form available here. Classes Westside Circus currently offers 19 classes a week during school terms. For a description of class content please visit the Class Description page: http://westsidecircus.org.au/class-descriptions.html We currently offer:
Fees Westside Circus is a not for profit organisation and we require full fee-paying enrolments to keep the program viable. For this reason, payments are due before the start of term at the time of enrolling. Enrolments are offered on a first come, first served basis. Payment Fees can be paid by: Cheque Please make the cheque out to 'Westside Circus' and send along with a copy of the invoice to: Public Program Coordinator Credit Card Please call Westside Circus on (03) 9482 2088 to complete payment by credit card. Direct deposit Please call Westside Circus on (03) 9482 2088 for details on paying via direct deposit
Enrolments are for a full term and Westside Circus is not able to offer a refund on unused classes. Due to our strict safety ratio policy we are unable to offer make up classes. If you anticipate being away for more than 2 weeks, please contact us to advise. Transferring Sometimes participants in Westside Circus Public Program classes wish to swap from one class to another. If this is the case, this can only be done at the start of term. Participants requesting a transfer will still have the option to retain their place in the current class if unsuccessful as a transfer providing all fees have been paid. Updating Details If any of the details you have provided through the online registration form change during the year please fill out a "Change of Details" form and submit it to the office as soon as possible. This is especially important in the case of an updated emergency contact or medical information. Forms All forms are kept on the information table outside the office. You can also post the forms in the Public Program mailbox in the same area. The Enrolment Coordinator will get back to you after you have submitted your information. Supporting others to benefit from the Westside Circus experience In 2010 Westside Circus is calling upon the Westside community to help others benefit from social circus. By donating to our scholarship fund you will enable children and young people from the ages of 3-25 years to attend Westside Circus classes and to access performance and leadership opportunities. Scholarship places will be open to children, young people and families living in the City of Yarra who hold a current health care card. The number of places will be determined by the level of donations and sponsorship received. For more information about the application process, please contact the Public Program Coordinator. Westside Circus holds deductible gift recipient and charity status. All donations over $2 are fully tax deductible. Class Conduct and Health & Safety Please ensure that your child has a water bottle at every class. If you are a parent of a participant you are welcome to stay in the waiting area if necessary. Please be mindful that this is a quiet zone and to keep noise to a minimum as it distracts the children during their class. If you are participating in a "Team" class (3-5 y.o) and have a younger child with you, a second adult/guardian needs to attend the class with you to supervise the younger sibling. We have safety concerns in relation to young unsupervised children wandering onto the circuit and through our space. If your younger child is participating in the class, they must be the appropriate age, enrolled and their fees must be paid. This will ensure that our ratios are adhered to for your safety. Please remember that there are no shoes on the mats and the mats and training space is an out of bounds area at all times except during class. Please arrive on time to class so your child can participate in the warm up. Please be aware that your child may not be able to participate fully in the class if they are late. This is because warm up is very important for avoiding injury. Please return to Westside to pick up your child 5 minutes before the end of class. If due to unforseen circumstances you will be late, please call and advise the office. Hot Weather In order to ensure the health and well being of our participants, the following 'Hot Weather' policies have been implemented: * When the temperature reaches 30 degrees in the training area, participants will have a water break every 20- 25 minutes * When the temperature reaches 34 degrees Westside trainers are encouraged to run alternative activities that are less strenuous – such as juggling, clowning and other performance activities * When the temperature reaches 38 degrees or over the class may be cancelled and we will contact you to collect your children Feedback and communication Westside Circus exists to provide opportunities and fantastic experiences for individuals and the community. Please feel free to communicate with us about your experience at Westside.
